Anyone familiar with the RP300?

I'm not much of an effects guy. But I've thought a bit about adding a mid-boost or some chorus for solos. And I just happened to find a Digitech RP300 in the garage ... a friend gave it to me awhile back, and I never used it. Anyone know much about this thing? In other words, is it worth the time to extract some decent sounds out of it (getting all the distortion from my Fryette head or Soldano clone)?
