I have a G-10 that I use with my 6505+ head in the fx loop for non-distorted fx (chorus/delay etc)... I picked up a really clean used Peavey 3120 (kickass amp, though its no 6505) over the weekend and my question is can the G-10's patches with distortion be used in the 3120's loop on the clean channel or is running distortion fx through a tube amp just an all around no-no. I know the 3120 has tons of gain on it's own on channel 2-3 but the G-10 has a few really good distorted patches I'd like to crank. I'm also a little confused about the send/return levels for the loop but I'm sure I'll figure those out by foolin around with 'em. Thanks for any input.
