I am selling a new condition Peavey 6505+ and my Avatar cab with 2 V30s and 2 Eminence Governors. Both are in excellent condition with the head being only about a month old. I was looking to downsize to a Mesa combo or a high end Marshall combo or $1,500 cash money. I have an offer to trade for a 2002 mint condition Mesa Triple Rectifier head. I would love a Mesa but I know I am going up in wattage instead of down. My question is do you think this is an equitable trade. I will still have a 2 x 12 with v 30s to play the Mesa through if I pull the trigger on this deal. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

If you're into constant flipping you should be in good shape.
I might be missing something with the cabs involved.
If you're after a particular tone, then only your ears can decide.
Mesa is not Marshall, nor vice versa.
I don't like flipping cabs.
If I like a cab, it's a keeper for life.
Heads...they come and go. -
triple recs are pretty versatile, but it is no marshall. yeah, you are going up in wattage, but you are gaining a lot of tonal range.GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!Comment

Well, after the avalanche of advice...lol I decided to go with the Mesa and make the trade. In the end though, I gave up a decent shape Jackson JS model guitar along with my 6505+ head and kept my Avatar Cab. Once I heard the Mesa through that cab it was all over. Beautiful tone and more gain than I will ever need. Thankfully the cab was not too dark sounding so it meshed with the Mesa very well! So much for downsizing but I am very happy with it! That is certainly my perception. Not by a ton but through my rig it sure sounds that way.
