Boss GT-10 Help

I recently obtained a Boss Gt-10 from a friend. I have it plugged into a Marshall AVT 150 right into the input with a Marshall 1960 Lead Cab. does anybody know the best setup for the best tone out of the Boss, i put it on clean but somehow it still sounds muddy.

It might be better to run it through the effects loop, if that amp has one. If not, then there should be settings in the GT for going straight into the front of different types of amps such as a stack, combo, etc. Just choose which one sounds best. I used to have a GT8, so I'm assuming the GT10 should have the same or similar settings.
