Anyone out there in JCF land have or have tried one of these? The few videos I can find of them on YouTube make them sound pretty good tone wise, but a lot of the recordings sound like absolute garbage. Either that or they're playing some djenty kind of stuff that I'm not into what-so-ever. That being said, the low end does sound pretty tight, and if there's one thing I like it's a tight bottom.
I am a little confused by what's in the power section of these though. They're listed as having 4 5881 power amp tubes. I'm not going to act like I know a ton about tubes, but I've never had any experience with these. Has anyone else?
I'd love to just go out and try one, but I seriously doubt any music store in Portland has anything besides JCM 2000s, 6505s, Dual Rectos, or legions of Fender combos for the indie rockers.
I currently have a 6505 that I think is like 80% there for the style of more traditional sounding metal I play, but the highs are just a little too ice-pick sounding.
Any anecdotal thoughts would be much appreciated.
