Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions about a good cab for a Mesa triple recto. Looking for a punchy, articulate sound with lots of low end. I play technical death metal. This will be my first time getting a head and cabinet. Thanks in advance!

I'm wondering if, for recording purposes, just getting a processor (eg axe efx) might not be a better path for our style of metal. Friend has one. Seems like a pain in the ass, but it does make some good tones. Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

Get a matching bottom. The Mesa head sounded best thru a matching cabs. The only cab I can tolerate Vin 30. I'd say get a Mesa cab loaded with 90's. That's a factory standard. They'll be focused, have some break up when pushed hard and sound warm. I'm not a fan of X-pattern ..just stick with the speaker that sounds best to you. IMO X-pattern confuses things..which one do I mic live..recording..ect..
Besides matching halfstacks look kick ass.
With that said classic 80's are my favorite speaker...but that's with Marshalls mostly."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
