  • Thoughts on this amp?

I need something a little more than I have for rehearsal and small gigs. I really have no desire to have a stack of any kind, at least not at this point. I have a chance at a 150 watt Line6 Spider II 212. I’ve played several other line6’s and I think the sound pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty fukin good. I can get this amp for about 200$, I think…..

    Any comments?

Man I'm on a tear....wife is gonna fukin hate me....

150 watts is enough to play a large music hall without PA. lol

Its reliable, its crazy loud and it sounds like a fake version of a real amp live. Thin, processed and generally like canned ass. The clean tones are excellent though.

^^ This. Tones like a wall of static fighting to be heard over every other instrument in the mix. At least you wont have to worry about anyone noticing if you mess up.

Guitar Center close to me has a used Peavey XXX combo for $199 that seems like a fair deal to me.

Might want to check out the older Marshall valavestate amps. They can be found for cheap and sound great.

Maybe an old Fender Roc Pro 1000 combo? Yngwie used one on his Concerto album and Full Shred DVD. I also used to have the head version, and it was very nice.
The first run of Marshall Valvestates were nice... the 8100 and 8200 series.
