Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 36 - any experience?

Does anyone have experience with one of these? Seems like it might be right up my alley, in terms of specs for something I'm interested in.

Specifically, I'm wondering if the lead channel has enough gain/distortion for my tastes? I guess I'm more of a very hot-rodded Marshall tone kind of guy. Think SLO and such.

I've seen a few online video reviews. However, few seem to really show putting the lead channel through its paces in a high gain mode. They just touch on it briefly, then move on to other features. LOL

H&K lead tones are more Hi-Fi sounding.. until you play one, it is hard to explain. Not marshally - it has its own thing going on
Having said that, I have owned the ATS 120, and Access preamp, and a Tube 50.
I also got to borrow the 18 watt version - it was typical H&K tone.
It is well made stuff

I have one...And I'm working on issues with the reverb unit...whenever it's turned all the up, it produces a HISSSSS sound...*does anyone else out there have the same problem*

From a tone prospective, I'm not overly esthetic ....There is no presence option so I need to turn up the treble almost 3/4 way before it starts to cut thru...but at this point, the tone starts to get very thin...even with the bass at 100% percent. The second channel can just get a decent AC/DC kind of tone...but not as good as other amps I have. Since the channel 2/3 share the same EQ, channel 2 seems to loose its OMPH...again, because the tremble is tuned to where its at.

I brought it to band practice the other day and it did ok, again, because I had to almost dime the tremble, I really lost that low-end that I think rounds out a good tone. I used channels 1/2 and I was ok happy with what I heard, unfortunately, I did not get a chance to try channel 3.

As for functionality, it's got it all....but from a tone perspective, I think it is lacking a bit. I will say that as I turned up the amp, I did become to like the tone a little better.

Bottomline, a nice amp for the price but I'm not sure if I would recommend it to anyone.

I wasn't real impressed with it.
Spent a few hours trying different cabs and really could not get a good bottom end out of it.
