I finally decided on a 3/4 channel amp and got a Roadster. I am having trouble getting a good crunch sound on channel 3 and 4 so I would like to try some different preamp tubes. I have been reading about different cocktails of tubes but I wanted to see if anyone here is using a Roadster and what tubes they are using.
I have tried a Tung Sol in the V1 postion but did not notice much of a change. The stock tubes just do not seem to produce enough gain or at least perceived gain to my ears. Any suggestions from Roadster users?
