  • NAD Peavey JSX

I went dudes house because I knew the 3120 is basically the same amp that I was saving up for and wanted to try one out... but I couldn't resist the price and condition of this JSX.

Had to buy it... I'M IN LOVE!!!

    It's almost mint... works flawlessly.

Post a review if you get around to it...

I've owned a JSX for a few years now. Great amp!

The only thing I wish it had (but doesn't) is switchable wattage. I suppose I could always add a hot plate, though.

The clean channel takes pedals with the ease of a drunken bar slag.

This bad boy matches up with my cab awesome (v30's), I can feel my testes quaking.

Can't wait play with my bro's drums and really crank this fucker.

The construction on this amp is rock solid, only thing that gets me is all the chrome, that's easily overlooked as soon as those tubes warm up and the sweet sound of pure tube power melts your face off.

It's heavy, weighs about 55 pounds... I threw my back out 3 weeks ago and thought I was going to blow it out again lugging this pig up to my apartment.

All in all I'm very happy with this amp and like it more then the 5150 I used to have... then again this amp is minty condish and the 5150 was rode hard.

The range of tones is total.

If you're hesitating on buying one, don't, you'll not be disappointed.

Its an amazing amp. My rhythm guitar player has a mint half stack. It sounds incredible.

Thinking about an EQ pedal... I've owned the mxr-108 in the past... pretty pricey.

I'm thinking a behringer should be ok?

The video up there is with a berhinger ultra metal through the clean channel...

What kind of pedal would you guys suggest to make the distortion channel more brutal?

Try a Keely modded DS-1 a friend of mine uses that same amp with one.
He sounds pretty damn brutal when cranked.
                  Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I think I'll just go with an EQ.

This amp has plenty of gain just want to shape the tone a bit more.

Looking towards low priced stuff, I keep hearing about the Digitech Bad Monkey as great value and quality OD for the price. In front as an OD should tighten up the dist channel. Worth a try for the price. As far as EQ (in the loop, bringing the brutal.. lol), I haven't found better than the MXR. And with the Vol and Gain sliders, you may not need an OD.

The sonic stomp and mxr-108 made my 5150 scream... to bad it had a cap going or some such shit.

Good resale value on those pedals also.

I was rocking out today for about 3 hours... this baby really puts a smile on my face.
