Today the Cyg Orpheus made it home, 30 watts of pure 6L6 goodness!!.
Thanks Cyg for a really fun amp I'm enjoying it a lot and still tweaking looking for sweet spots and oh yes I have found a few really good ones so far.
Its a very pick attack sensitive amp which is what I like and the 2 gain controls really let you have plenty of choices in drive flavor again a very good thing to have in an amp.
Its LOUD as hell trust me its no wimp of an amp by any means.
You can push the amp and it stays focused without getting too harsh very throaty/ gritty is the best way to describe it.
The amp has a character all its own and doesn't sound like a Fender or Marshall in any way.
Thanks again Cyg for a job well done I'm a happy camper!!

        Glad you like it man.
Too bad I can't try my new toy with that amp.
I'm "stuck" with the old Cygnus #1.

Wait until you get a 4x12 hooked up to it.
It will blow your head clean off!

Since we're here and you mentioned it.
"Immediacy of attack" or touch sensitive is something I strive for.
There are plenty of other designs that seem to be cookie cutter to my ear.
I mentioned Dr. Z, and Trainwreck specifically when discussing designs.
Retaining that clean honest tone and still able to get high gain is what
allows the guitarist to be able to dial it in from the guitar and not fiddle with the amp.

Kind of removes the question of overdrive pedals in my little opinion.
            Great amps can do that.
Dial the guitar volume back and it retains clean decibels.
Dime the volume and it sings and compresses a little.

I agree Cyg just roll the volume back on the guitar and crank it when you need that push.

                  That would be cool.
Or at least a fresh black cloth.

I'm sure it sounds the best with the Marshall.

The Celestion in the cab sounds great all on its own but the 2X12 has more bottom end.
Haven't got around to trying a 4X12 yet.

Its a great amp just too bad I have no way of recoding it in a clip to show what it really sounds like.
My digital cam blows when it comes to sound quality.
