  • Friedman Steve Stevens SS-100 amplifier

    Finally Steve's own demo, using a Boss EQ and a BAE pre-amp I think. Lollar and BK pickups in the Les Paul.

    Opinions?

      Who knew Friedman could do a killer clean?!?

      Of course we are hearing it in what sounds like a stereo wet/dry/wet mix still, but it sounds fantastic. I wish I could afford one.

      I also want one of those Lollar neck pickups he's using. Holy crap did it sound great. At first I was thinking "How is he getting that sound out of a Les Paul?"

        Lot more effects going on than what he says I grant you that.
        Not sure on the Lollar model he has(sounds good) but their vintage singles sound really tinny.More like canned ass.
        The amp does sound good.
        Really? well screw Mark Twain.

          Effects or not, a Friedman amp IS going to sound good! I have a Brown Eye 100 and it kicks ass!

            Correction from Steve on pickups and speakers used"
            SteveStevens wrote:Hey Guys,
            My mistake, the neck pickup is a Fralin P92, not Lollar. The bridge pickup is a Bareknuckles Rebel Yell. Thanks to Mark & Dave for doing the video. I tried to keep it very very basic. Straight up, no eq or compression etc. The cab is a Mojo 2X12 mini slant....this guy.

            It's actually loaded with Weber speakers. Here's the specs. They are rated at 100w each which is really nice in a 2X12. I wanted Celestion creambacks, but they were not available at the time i got the cabinet.
            Specs are
            Ceramic Silver Bell British Series 12 inch Speaker
            * Cone Style - Paper
            * Dope - Pre-Rola Add $ 10.00
            * Impedance - 8 Ohms
            * Power - 100 watts

              Cool video.

              The simple clean channel on the BE-100 I just picked up is killer playing straight through, with no effect.

                Cool video. Interesting amp, but I think I am covering this territory already with the MTS stuff I have. Didn't Friedman design some of the modules?

                  Cool. I've been waiting to hear this amp. I'm a big SS fan. There is definitely a delay in that sound.

                      Thanks for the update on the pickup Emerald. I am likely ordering one for my RR1T. I love the Jazz I put in it, but the P92 has me very intrigued. Plus the Jazz whistles like crazy at high gain. I know it's a cover resonance issue and is fixable, but that Fralin will let me keep my Strat on the stand 90% of the time.
