I hear what you're saying. I agree to some degree. But...this is not just hype. Normally I get kind of annoyed by the Fractal-ciples, but they are rightfully excited about this update.

If YOU love it, that's all that matters! The AXE is a ton of inspiration!

With all these countless updates and new versions year after year I guess you could honestly say that the original Axe FX must have sucked and sounded like canned ass!

+1. You have to "feel" how it responds to your touch. I replaced 18 spaces of rack gear with one Axe-FX Ultra. It is the all-in-one box I always dreamed of.

I've been running FW V 10.0 now for a bout a week.
The MArshall amp models now are totally kicking ass and "feel" much better.
up until FW9.02 to get my patches to 'feel" real I had to tweak, compression, pick attack , and transformer match
to 'soften" them up and get more bounce. V10. has it baked in a lot more, the Brit super thru the new OH Live and loud IR's is blowing me away. It's got a lot more "bounce" to it and sounds and feels more "3D" than ever.
The Recto models now have a lot more Fizz to them , but supposedly that is because they are now "mimic'ing" the real amps. The clean models and nicer now too , much fuller sounding, but the thing I notice most about this update is the 'stiffness" that you get with modeleres has pretty much vanished. the feel is much much better now.
I still know people that like the Ultra better??? I don't get it.
I'm dying to try the Kemper and see how they match up against each other.

Thanks Nick...pm'd. Never having played or heard (firsthand) an Axe before FW 10 all I can say is modeling ain't what it used to be. My xt live sucks major ass by comparison. Now I have a killer collection of hi gain amps for all my headbanging needs. This thing is SO addictive :-)

Im with Emperor Black too...i finally have my Ultra justs smokin'. and sounding like Skid row meets Satch! But i know in my heart, that the 2 is at least
40% better... I have the $'s now...just going to wait until i for sure get the latest upgrade from the shipping date. Im lousy with computers..:-(

With the FractalBot and the editor, it couldn't be easier. Seriously.

I even got my MFC to update first try with the fractal bot
previously with MIDI -OX updating that thing was a fucking nightmare.

I just watched a youtube demo of the presets including some atmospheric pitchshifting. Gives my Eventide Eclipse a run for its money!

I just recently scored a fryette 2/50/2 power amp and I've been A/B ing it against the Matrix GT1000fx
I have a set of Xitone passive FRFR cabs and an Avatar 2X12 with hellatone60's in it.
with the Xitones not much of a difference at all.
with the Real guitar cab.........................holy shit night and day, the Fryette has brought my high gains patches to life!
