NAD... Well, NACD.. Randall RM50C without the "C"

New Amp Chassis Day.. Picked up a Randall RM50C chassis. No combo shell. Gonna build a head shell for it tomorrow. Already have some distressed leather-ish tolex to cover it that matches the tolex on my RM100. So I haven't played any modules through it yet but hopefully soon as I'm getting anxious to play it. Came with a pair of Mullard EL34 tubes, I always played 6L6's so should be interesting..

This is the fabric backed vinyl I bought. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vinyl-Heavy-...#ht_3687wt_922 Plenty heavy duty but soft like leather.. Searching for "tolex", this pattern is called Taurus. Same as what Randall and Mesa use. I got 3 yards and already covered a big 2x12 and have way more left than I need to do this head shell. The shell is built and I'm gonna cover it today. Waiting on corners and a handle. Played it in the shell today and really surprised how clear, bright, and shimmery my KH1 is. 1086 sounded better than in my RM100 too. I think this has the correct values on the presence/density board. I know my RM100 doesn't. Will be remedied soon.. Plus may be a difference in the EL34 and 6L6?? I'll see with modded modules later. I'll post a pic later when it's covered.

Tolex'd and waiting for corners, handle, and grill cloth. Gonna match the Randall cab with silver cloth.
