  • Marshall JCM 2000

Decided that one of my Marshall JCM 2000 heads needed to be dressed in white. So I picked up a white Marshall headshell off E-Bay made by Sourmash. A couple internal mods were done so it would fit (the headshell was intended for a JCM 800). Anyway, here it is done!

It looks good but I prefer the 1959RR front panel, it just looks that perfect bit cleaner.

          Awesome bro!!!
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

Thanks guys! I already have the 1959RR covered, including matching cabs I just needed a white headshell to give this JCM 2000 a Rhoads vibe cause white Marshalls sound better

I know how you feel. I bought some white Marshall tolex and black speaker grill cloth to redo two 1979 Marshall 4x12 cabs, one straight and one angled. I picked them up in pretty beat up shape. One with original Blackback speakers and the other without. The speakers didn't really matter much to me as I'm replacing them with some Altecs so I can make my 1959RR closer to Randy's setup. The Rhoads signature cabs Marshall released to match the head have standard fare 75w Celestions like other Marshall cabs. I plan to redo both cabs completely into a Rhoads full stack in white

Nice work and nice amp, DSLs are great. I have had one camping in my jam room for the past few weeks. A buddy grabbed one with a Marshall TV cab and left it after last jam.

I'm not sure why people are paying +$1000s for modded Marshalls; Friedman's, Scamerons and the like, when you can grab a DSL for ~ $500...

The orange crush amp / cab looks great too.

That's cool man. I heard that Altecs are hard to find, did you find some or are you still looking?

I found some good originals that have not been reconed or modded in any way. Of course I found them one or two at a time, not in quads. It was a a PITA finding 8 of these things in good shape! But I'm always looking for spares if they are reasonably priced
Oh yeah, forgot to mention I'm playing out with my band this coming Saturday night. I'll probably take this white JCM 2000 to gig through
As for the Friedmans, Camerons, and Cameron modded Marshalls, well I have those too. They are killer amps but much more expensive than a used DSL/JCM 2000. These DSL's are great amps for not a lot of money. They mic up through PA systems very well! In fact my sound man prefers mic'ing up my DSL to either of my Camerons. The Cameron's have their own sizzle going on and I like those as well.

Here was my setup for last night's gig: The white Marshall JCM 2000 from above with a Rhoads Marshall 4x12, The pedalboard seen below with all the pedals running through the programable looper except for the wah and Flanger which are before the looper in the chain. I used my Ultraviolet Burst SL2H, 2 hum Charvel USA reissue, and Les Paul Custom 74 reissue.
