I actually had a zinky amp that I loved.

Mark did you like the sp77 or the x88r? I had the SP77 which I ran through the power section of a powerball and I loved it through that.

I HATED the SP-77. I thought it was weak. I LOVED the X88R, but I got offered CRAZY money for it, so I sold it
      GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

      and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I haven't owned the volumes that most of you have. And certainly nothing as cool as a lot of them.

But my favourite is my RM100. With modded modules, I can rock a Dumble, JCM/JMP & SLO in the one head. Pretty damn cool.

These are the only amps I've owned, and I enjoyed all of them.

              No longer own:

              Fender RocPro 1000 head
              Crate Blue Voodoo 60 head
              Carvin V3 head
              Mesa/Boogie F-30 combo

              Amps I still own:

              Carvin V3M head
              THD Univalve head
              Tech 21 Trademark 300 head
Marshall 8240 Valvestate 2x12 stereo chorus combo
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

The BV head I had sounded godly with KT66 tubes in it, especially with my Carvin SC90 with DiMarzio Super D and Super 2 pickups.

Sounds like a seriously killer set up. I've never been a DiMarzio fan personally but the Super Distortion has to be my favorite pick up by them If I had to choose one. My buddy won't play any other bridge pick up and it's funny you mention the Super D because it's the same guy who had the Blue Voodoo!

I still have my old Dual Monobloc and JMP1 as well. I haven't used it for quite a while considering it's just too damn much in a house but I'll never let mine go either. It was all I used when I use to play out. I didn't mention it because I thought we were only talking about regular head units and combo's. But +1 bro! I honestly think that set up has some of the best distortions on it I've ever heard IMO.

Yes, the Marshall JMP-1/Dual Monobloc set up is a classic that still sounds good when put up against the best of what's available today. Mine is combined with the Marshall JFX-1 multi effects processor which sounds nice and warm despite being an obsolete unit. I had to search high and low for that JFX-1!
