I think the only thing missing from the Axe FX 2 is a pair of BNC word clock ports.

From the demo video I watched on YouTube you can use both of the trs and balanced outs at the same time.
Here, I found the video. Fast forward to 4:00.

I tried to love it. Got nice monitors. After a couple weeks, sent it all back. I concluded that I'm a tube amp guy. It's a great piece of gear. Just not for me."You have a pud..your wife has a face. Next time she bitches..I'd play cock bongos on her cheeks..all four of them!" - Bill Z.
I just just had a sudden urge to sugga dick..! If I wore that guitar and didn't suck male genitalia..somethin' is very wrong! - Bill Z.

One thing I do with every amp I audition (and I use Axe-Edit all the time) is to put the all EQ/Gain/Presence at noon, and as you mentioned, the low end is SICK, so I always engage the "CUT" switch. Don't use any effect to audition either. Let the default compression and master volume be. Let the BRIGHT/SAT/etc switches default too...for now. There always sems to be a bit more gain than you think there should be. I just DL'd 12.01, and ended up backing my gain off on almost everything -- but it was a little hot to begin with so no biggie.
It'll give you a good idea of where things are at. Adjust to taste from there. I've found that small adjustments make a big difference on my FRFR rig. But nothing sounds as good as a home player...NOTHING. My Kemper gives it a good run for the money though...

I tried tone matching a recording I made of my Taylor using a Rode M3 mic last year. I think with a better recording I can get a totally usable acoustic sound for live gigs without having to lug an extra guitar/stands/cables etc with it.

They're built to sit that way. Google 'em, and learn everything you ever wanted to know. And to answer your question, yes, they sound awesome, and are priced VERY reasonably.

It took me around 3 hours of fiddling, but I finally have my Roland FC-300 set up to do the following...
Switch between scenes 1-4. I can add a 5th easily if I want, but I don't foresee the need for me. I tend to set up a patch for a song and scenes within the patch, so 4 different sounds per patch should be plenty. I may go from individual l scene buttons to scene up/down instead as that lets me access all 8 sequentially. I'll have to play around and see how it goes.
EXP 1 - Switch enables/disables wah1, sweep controls ext ctrl1
EXP 2 - Switch enables/disables pitch1, sweep controls ext ctrl2 (These settings let me assign the sweeps to other controls if I don't need pitch or wah blocks, although obviously the switching won't work in these situations)
CTL1 controls full bypass
CTL2 enables/disables front panel tuner (I love the built in tuner!)
Switch 5 lets me enable/disable the delay1 block.
Switch assignments 6-10 are currently unused.
I prefer using scenes to switch in and out effects rather than controlling them individually in a stomp box type of setup because then I'm tying multiple pedal tap dances into a single press. If i do find the need to go for the stompbox route I can just use 6-10 for that functionality.
I've got my basic presets set up for my band gigs and the foot controller ready to go now! I left my HOG2 at the auditorium so I can't test it out in the loop for my "Cello" preset/scene, but once that's done the unit is ready to gig. Now I can spend the next year refining my go-to patches, working on my high gain patches, and losing myself down the rabbit hole of IR's and IR mixing...GTWGITS! - RacerX

I ended up going with the Yamaha DXR-10. I'll update with feedback after I have a chance to play through with the band tonight.
Update : DXR-10 was awesomesauce. It was capable of way more volume than necessary and I think the 10" woofer fits well for guitar playback. It stays nice and punchy. Everyone said it was the best tone I've ever had. Everyone was especially tripping over my Taylor acoustic tonematch.Last edited by Hellbat; 11-21-2013, 12:23 AM.GTWGITS! - RacerX
