My Roland FC-300 totally meets my needs currently and it has 2 built in controllers, with toe switches.

That's the only beef I have with the X-15 - no toe switch for Wah, so if you're in a patch that has it, you have to set the board to Effect On/Off mode. But then, you won't accidentally smash the switch if you get crazy with the treadle, either.

You can set the Axe up for auto engage of the wah pedal similar to how the Morley Bad Horsie wahs engage.

Mine shit the bed yesterday. I was downloading the new firmware, and got the dreaded "all lights on - blank screen". FUCK! Locked up.

Fractal was quick to get back to me though (fried EPROM), and got me on track with a part I need replaced, and directions on how to do it. Hope it's the answer - a $1 part.

Sure makes me nervous though. Glad I have my Kemper still - it's funny too, cuz I just told a buddy of mine yesterday that I was going to put it up for sale. Really re-thinking that now.

Sorry to hear that Chris. There have been a few people experience bad updates and I've seen people have the issue since before I bought mine. Apparently if you leave the MFC hooked up while doing the firmware update it can cause issues. I always make sure I don't have any software running other than Fractal bot when doing the updates. I've updated my firmware at least 7 times since buying it with no issues so far.

The nice thing about the boot EPROM is that once you have it, you are able to use it again if you have future issues. For a dollar it would be nice if it was built in and you could just flip a switch to activate it.

Yeah but if it bakes due to an electrical issue, that's another....dollar

And that's cool to know about the bias settings, but how accurately is that modeled? Granted no one's going to spend a lot of time with an expensive Marshall head and dick with the bias just to build a computer sim of it, or to test the accuracy

"does this accurately reflect the sound of a boutique amplifier about to go into nuclear meltdown?"

I can imagine the forums lighting up:

"the way-too-hot bias settings are close but just don't authentically capture my tone during the 30 seconds of playing time I had before my real SLO100 fused into a solid lump of metal and glass. FAIL!"

I see you've spent some time at the fractal forums.

It happens. Sucks, but whaddya do? I've upgraded many times as well with no issue. I've lived a pretty charmed life as far as amps go, so I can't complain much. It just sucks when it happens to be the most expensive piece of gear I've ever owned...go figure. Hopefully the fix is an easy one. For a dollar, what do I have to lose? I'll never tell the Kemper I'm thinking about selling it again, though!!

Well...the Kemper is a free-roaming toaster, whereas the Axe is captive in its rack...

FW 13 with ultrarez cabs is out now. I've only been playing with it for a few minutes, but this one is another "Ermahgerd! How did they make it sound better?"

Yeah there is a wait list on the Axe 2's as well right now. Metallica cleaned them out hehe.

They had a 'blow out' on the MFC-101 Mk 2's the other day. Are you on the list for a Mk 3?
