  • 1968 Fender bassman find

Got this 50 watt 68 Bassman today and what an awesome amp!!
Made in Jan 1968 so very early in the run so same circuitry as the blackface version.
Still has the drip edge moulding which was only used in 68.

Sweet man! I've never played through a real one, but love all my modeled versions. I do love the JTM-45 slightly more though.

Jumped is different ball game for sure.
I'm sure it will be fun too, so far I haven't found what I would call a bad tone.
Funny thing I can always find somewhere on most amps where it takes a tone dump but this one its right as rain so far.
I get a magical feeling with this one for some reason which is odd because I don't really care much for most Fender amps.
This blows my 78 Twin reverb away X10

Again my experience with these is all in the modeled realm, with the 11 Rack and Axe-Fx II, but the Bassman is the least "Fender" sounding of all of their amps. It has a nice grindy thunk to it. That's why the blues guys love em.

              I can see why too.
Such killer tone and can do most anything well.

nice amp. I love vintage fenders. I have a 63 tremolux in blonde tolex and a 64 vibro champ head. I am currently negotiating a 1962 bassman...I am really excited about that one!!

here's a cool trick with the fender amps:

plug your guitar into channel 1, input 1. jumper to the input of your pedal board. plug the output of your pedal board into input 1 of channel 2. that allows you to blend your effects into your pure fender signal like you have a parallel effects loop. if you have a volume pedal you can roll the effects in and out as you are playing.
                GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

                and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!
