LOL, sorry man, had to do it.
It's in Jazz but I minored in "How to miss the obvious."
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

On a serious note I pulled some tubes from another amp and it looks like I need a couple new pre-amp tubes. I stuck a few newer ECC83's in it and it sounded like the day I got it from my friend. So nothing major I am happy to report. I ordered eight brand new JJ's today from tube depot so things will be all good when they arrive.

Thanks bro but I was never really out of business. I have six other tube head units (all Marshall) and a JMP-1 with the Dual Monobloc power amp as well. I just hate when anything I own is in disrepair. I only use the TSL for jamming at friends houses. It's my grab and go head unit because I don't want to move any of my 800's or my Plexi and I am definitely not moving that JMP-1 or the Dual monobloc. The TSL does have a killer "Lead" channel but the best distortion for my money is the JMP-1 and the Dual Monobloc. The only draw back is it weighs a ton but that's to be expected because it's got eight EL-34's and four ECC-83's in it.

Yes, the JMP1/Dual Monobloc rack set up is a killer amp. That Dual Monobloc power amp weighs a ton because its really two power amps in one. You can run side A or side B or both together in stereo. Add your favorite multi effects processor and a speaker cab or two, and you have a very potent guitar rig. I use a Marshall JFX1 with mine.

Yep, it's not the tubes that are heavy. it's those huge chunks of iron known as transformers.

Yeah the dual Monobloc is a bad MF'er but the TSL I am speaking about is not the combo. I have the Head unit. The combo you're talking about is called the TSL 122 or the 602. I believe these are the model numbers for the combo amps. The head unit is just Called a JCM 2000 TSL 100.

This is true. It does have four massive silver colored metal transformers inside it. In fact there's one in every corner and they are just about the biggest transformers I've ever seen in an amp. I was just trying to give him an idea of how much power the thing has because we were speaking about killer distorted channels.

If you've been to a Iron Maiden concert in the last 15 years, you know how they sound.

Or even a Def Leppard concert, they still use the JMP1 also. And yes, the JMP1 does great distortion tones. In fact the cleans are very nice on it too. Back to the Dual Monobloc power amp, that and the Mesa Simulclass 2:90 are legendary rack power amps. They both weigh a ton but they also put out a ton of tone!

+1 to Roodyrocker and Hellbat. The JMP-1 is the preamp and it's basically what gives you all your sounds. The Dual Monobloc is just the power section of the set up. You can run just about any rack mountable preamp with the Dual Monobloc. I use the JMP-1 but Roodyrocker uses the JFX-1. Another example of someone you've heard playing a Dual Monobloc is Dave Mustaine. He's using it and the Rocktron Prophesy I do believe. Here's a pic of Mustaine's rig. He's actually using both of the models. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...ed=0CF8Q9QEwBA
