  • It might be a Splawn........

Watching this makes me want to toss my Vetta II HD out the nearest window:

This is the Splawn Quick Rod 100w Amp.This video was a production of DrumsByJesse on his Canon T2i DSLR (18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and 50mm f/1.8 lenses used). Guita...

So now I'm thinking of getting a Splawn instead of a Marshall JVM410H. I haven't heard a Splawn video yet that didn't sound amazing.

I've heard great things about Splawn amps, and that demo sure sounds good.

I know this it a little OT, but have you tried a Friedman / Friedman mod? I was looking to buy a lunchbox amp, but decided that realistically I'd need to put it through a 4x12 to get it to sound as big as I wanted, so I ended up with a Marshall 87x which Friedman had modified. And I am blown away by it. I used to totally swear by my rack, and anything else just didn't match up to that sound. Since getting the Friedman mod in December, I've used my rack twice... And it sounds incredible quiet. Really quiet.

Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I tried a Splawn Street Rod with one of their 4x12's with small blocks and it wasn't for me. If I wasn't still really happy with my Axe 2 I'd be super tempted to grab a Pink Taco...

Here are some speaker tests from the Quickrod and Nitro courtesy of Windsen Pan. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/defa...&content=music

              They do a superb job.

                I'm biased, as I'm a Splawn owner. Mine's a Competition, so a lot fewer
options than a Quick Rod. The Competition's a perfect amp for me, but
I think the Marshall would give you more options than a Quick Rod. Also,
Splawns aren't as gainy as a lot of people think. Try to play one before you
                buy...

Believe me, that's my goal. but it's tough around here. Hell, the local GC doesn't have anything in Marshall except for the new DSL100. Forget about Splawn or Friedman.
