I don't think I could ever use that justification to buy something hahaha.

I would happily spend less money to get the same amp with different printing on it

I have owned every version of the 5150 and I think the best sounding one is the 5150-II. They all sound great.

Everything I have heard myself would lead me to believe that there is no significant sonic difference between a "Block letter" and a Script 5150.

I found the 5153 to be very underwhelming. The JVM is a nice versatile amp, and I would love to try out a Splawn. In time...

If you aint got the dough for the 5150 3 try and track down a block letter 5150, theyre killer rigs. Ive been slaying with mine for awhile now and i traded a vk100 that i only payed $150 for. I love the 5150 series.

Not trying to sell you on the AxeFx but everything is fully available on the front panel. The editor just makes it easier and faster.

My vote is for the 5150 III.

I think he was being facetious.....

That's the main reason I sent the Mustang back. I don't mind tweaking and I've done it for years, but the idea that I HAVE to hook it up to a computer to get to the deeper settings really bothers me. What if I'm asked to perform the national anthem again and I decide on the spot to switch cab emulations? Tough, unless there's a laptop nearby with Fender FUSE loaded on it. So, no thanks. At least my Vetta has all of the settings on the front panel.

I already have the Vetta rig. The Axe-Fx 2 does sound great in the videos, but I think it'll be back to tubes for now.....

I have the EVH and the 410. I plug into the EVH 4 times as often. Just a better amp IMO.

The Quickrod is an all around better sounding amp and that's saying a lot for me because I LOVE my Single Rectifier. The best things about the Single Rectifier are how forgiving it is and how with only 50 watts to play with you can REALLY turn it up. I often play with my master volume on 5 mic'd through the PA. Its also dead silent. The Quickrod really makes my Single Rectifier sound cheap if that makes any sense. If you want total pro sound live... the Splawn is the way to go.

    Splawns take pedals very well...
I believe he said it was just the amp, but he adds pedals later to demo his presets. None of the pedals mentioned are for overdrive or distortion.
