Hello all,
I have been using the GT-10 for a few years now and thought it was pretty good. It has it's faults and some tone suck of your amp but with enough dialing in, you can get some really good sounds out of it.
I used my amps Preamps as well as a few Modelers which I liked and fooled around with. I was able to edit patches easy and add and take away stuff with ease.
So Guitar Center is having this sale , 15% off if you trade something in. So For the sheer hell of it I called them and asked about trading in a Gt-10 for a GT-100. They put together me a deal and I went for it.
Well I got the Gt-100 home and the first thing I noticed was the box was generic. It was just a plain Carboard box with some GT stuff on it from Boss. I thought it was a double box and the GT box would have been inside. Nope this is what it comes in.
Ok I connected the GT-100 in the 4 cable method and tried out some factory patches. Well NONE of the factory patches even sound remotely good. I mean this thing sounds terrible like something is wrong with it. The Bass response is about as bloated as it gets, the patches all sound like crap and I want to throw it out the window.
I can't anything to even sound remotely nice or close to pleasing. I don't get it. The GT-10 never sounded like this.
I went over my settings as well as I understand them. I got it in Combo Return which is what I use to set the GT-10 in and it sounded great.
So What gives here? It's running version 1.06 which I was going to upgrade to Version 2.0 or whatever the new one is but I think I'm returning this unless I just got something completely wrong.
I did check all cables and this is how it's wired.
Guitar IN
Send to the front of the amp
Return from the Send of the amp
left mono out is going to the Amps return
This is how I wired the GT-10 and it worked great.
I don't get it.
