  • NAD - Picked up a Marshall 30th Anniversary 6100

I've been GASing for one of these for a long time, and couldn't find one in decent condition for a good price. This one popped up locally, so I made a offer, and got it for quite a bit cheaper than I'd hoped.

You don't hear too much about these anymore, but it's a really versatile and well thought out amp. 3 Channels with 3 different modes on channel 2, and lots of tonal options on all channels. It's also switchable from 100/50/25 watts. The primary effects loop is series or parallel, with level settings, so it will work with anything from pedals to rack gear. You can also use line out/line in as another series effects loop.

I hear a lot of folks raving about channel 2 on this thing, but as good as it is, I think channel 3 is great too. Of course channel 1 has one of the best cleans I've ever heard from a high gain channel switcher.

Joe Satriani used the clean channel on that amp for a long time for recording.

Very nice! I've never tried one, but I remember reading about them and thought they were cool, especially the blue ones.

I need a blue one to go with my blue Anniversary 4 x 12. Yep, I NEED one.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

          I nearly broke her back

I wish mine was blue. If it wasn't in such nice shape, I'd tear the tolex off and redo it, but then I'd need to redo my 1960 cab to match.

A while ago I had the chance for a 6100LM with Blue top cab for just over €1K,
but I'm quite happy with my closet setup and was already strapped for space (and volume)
