  • Nad marshall dsl100h

MADE IN VIETNAM. Mine is 2 months old.
The differences between this and the JCM2000 DSL100 are...

The DSL100H has chassis mounted tube sockets
    Digital reverb
A resonance control knob instead of the deep switch
    Switchable pentode/triode 50/100w switch
Effects loop can be totally bypassed with a push button

    Here is my review.
Green channel. Clean. Outstanding. Very familiar sounding. My guess is ALOT of pro's use this clean when recording.
Green channel. Vintage. Great for hard rock up to an old AC/DC type crunch

Red channel has 2 modes. Both of them have more gain than you will ever need. They both sound outstanding
Resonance control is great to control how much thump you need.
    Digital reverb is outstanding

Its a great sounding all around Marshall amp.

Also.. for anybody who is interested... I have owned the JCM2000 DSL50 and 100, and the TSL50 and 100.
To my ears.... the new DSL100H sounds the closest to a JCM800 2203/4 with a distortion pedal slamming it. It would be the perfect amp for a guitar player looking for a stellar identifiable clean channel (a good example would be the clean guitar sound in Kryptonite by Three Doors Down) or When the Smoke is Going Down by The Scorpions. It would be perfect for somebody looking to NAIL the AC/DC Back in Black tone. Its perfect for 80's hair band metal. If you dial the gain way up it gets very smooth and a little compressed which is great for smooth guitar solo's.
The resonance control works similar to the Peavey 5150 control. Its just not as reactive.
The best thing about this amp is you can put all the knobs at 12:00 and it sounds great. No tweaking required.
It also has a crap load of midrange so if you want to be heard live but you don't want to blow the band away.. this is a great amp.

So you are saying that this is a great amp. Im looking at new ones at around 750 with a 15% discount. I may buy one will need a cab as well. I was thinking Ceriatone but its double the price and 1 channel.

I could easily say that its one of the best values out there right now. Its great for any genre of music and it sounds REALLY good. If you need a cabinet do yourself a favor and get a Marshall 1960A loaded with Celestion V30's. That's the best cab for this amp. I have several different 4 x 12 cabs and the 1960A Lead Cab sounds the best. My Soldano 4 x 12 straight sounds good too. I would also think if you are looking for a 2 x 12.. the Marshall 1936 would be a good choice.

To give you an idea of the tonal range of the DSL100H... you could go from Hendrix and Clapton Bluesbreakers to Thin Lizzy to Ted Nugent up through Kiss and AC/DC up through Judas Priest, Iron Maiden into Dio, Accept and end up at Killswitch Engage.
If you are in a Beatles tribute band look elsewhere.

Wow very versatile I think Im going to get me one. I may go with 75's though I always liked them with Marshalls. Thanks on the 1936 suggestion it looks perfect and isnt too heavy. Buying it thru music 123 so if its not my thing at least I can send it back in 45 days. Ive been amp searching a few weeks and whenever I decide to go smaller I see a couple of videos and say to myself needs a big amp lol. Thanks again John you saved me lots of money and hopefully my search is over.

Yup, I've had the DSL100H for about a year now and it's EXCELLENT. one key - keep it on the 100 watt setting, it's much more responsive and ballsy than the 50 watt setting.

the headroom is killer and any big fingerslide down the neck makes you sound like John Sykes.

it's improved my playing by making me more confident in what I'll sound like. I sold my Carvin V3 which is a good amp, but doesn't hold a candle to this one.

and finally a Marshall with a great clean channel! although I tend to use the green and red channels mostly for my cover band.

I cannot recommend this amplifier enough. this is my first Marshall so I'm a newbie but it's so nice. it's a BIG amp too, big and heavy.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
