Help with effects please

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help on setting up pedals as i can not wrap my head around what i need to do for the setup i'm looking for so i was hoping someone here would be able to help with a solution.

What i want to do seems quite simple, but the solution is probably more complex (and expensive!) than i'm expecting.

I want to be able to have my standard setup (Guitar>Wireless>EVH 5150 III>ISP Decimator in loop, and switch between the following 3 setups with one footswitch click instead of pedal dancing.

Channel 1 (Clean) Decimator OFF, Delay ON.

Channel 2 (Rhythm) Decimator (effects loop) ON, all other effects OFF.

Channel 3 (Lead) Decimator OFF, Delay ON, Compression sustainer ON.

I'm guessing i would have to go MIDI to be able to switch amp channels as well as effects with one click but what do i need to get to do that? Does that also change the kind of pedals i can use? What connects to what and where and how and why? I honestly have no idea what i need to do to achieve what seems like a simple idea. Can anyone offer any guidance please?

I'm not sure but I think you would need a midi box/controller but I would look into something like a G-major 2. I think you can connect it via midi and do your channel switching via the 5150's foot switch.

Check out www.thegigrig.com. They have a few diferent switching/looper products that I think would cover what you are looking for. And conveniently for you, they are based in the UK. (Swindon)

Their G2 product has amp switching functionality using TRS cables.

Other products that may meet your needs include Fractal Audio Systems FX-8 (not shipping yet) or Voodoo Labs GCX, RJM Effect Gizmo/Rack Gizmo. The Voodoo Labs and RJM reqire seperate MIDI foot controllers however.
