Mesa Boogie Mark V :25, thoughts?

Does anyone have one of these? What is your impression? What cab do you use?
There was as thread on here when these first came out but I believe it was lost in the crash/restore.
I bought one and it should be here this week. Looking forward to trying it out.
I think I am going to sell my DC-2 since I don't need 2 EL-84 amps

Can't wait to get your impressions of it. I'm a big Mesa fan and I'd be
interested in getting one. FWIW, I've got the 5:25 Express Plus and
really like it. The Mark V mini should be even better...

UPS man dropped it off today.
First impression is wow it's small and light.
Looks tiny on my oversize recto 4x12.
I haven't gotten a chance to plug in yet but when I finish with work I'll give it a whirl.

Only got a quick play on it but it is very very much like the Mark V.
There is no 2nd channel but that is the one I never really use.
There is no effects loop switch but I haven't used the loop much anyway, I still need to acquire a decent delay without tone suckage.
On the plus side you can really crank it up and get some great saturation without blowing your ears out in the studio.
More to come but yeah...this is a great amp at a nice price.

A friend of mine borrowed me his MK5 and I really liked it.I thought the 1 and 2 channel were great.I did not like the 3rd channel.When I saw this thing come outI was sad to learn that they omited the second channel for 1 and 3. Other wise I think I may have liked to have one.

Just get a Torpedo Live and you can play your Mark V at bedroom levels as if it was one of those mini amps, and you get to keep all 3 channels

In my band we now have two Torpedo Lives. We no longer run real cabs on stage. We go amp to Torpedo Live to PA for my guitar and the other guitarist. It's been working out great! Even had another guitar player in the audience ask where my amp was during break. He said it sounded fantastic and wanted to know what amp I was using but couldn't find one I was using a JMP1 preamp with the Torpedo Live. In fact I brought the Torpedo Live home and plan to plug my Mesa Mark V head into it to try out

So you run the JMP1 straight into the Torpedo and use the power amp modeling? I haven't tried that. I've been using it to record at home with my Mark V and Road King II. No need for sound proofing the room, no need for playing really loud. I can play all night with the kids asleep!

One thing I noted about the Torpedo (mine is a Live too, btw) was that I need to add a touch of reverb for it to sound natural, but that's of course not a big problem and to be expected. At least I was like that in the initial version, but I'm not sure it's the same since I upgraded the firmware.

I imagine it works great live. Easy to set up, no bleed between instruments, no feedback issues, etc.

Yes, I use the power amp sim from the Torpedo Live along with my JMP1 preamp. I have the sim set to EL34 and I also use a bit of the EQ in the Torpedo Live. Makes for a much lighter rack and you're right, no bleed through from guitar cab mics. My rack has the jMP1, a JFX1 multi effects processor, rack Wah, Korg tuner, a power strip. I have another similar rack at home without the Torpedo Live but has a Marshall Dual Monobloc power amp. That thing more than doubled the weight of the rack!
