  • Isolation headphones

Grabbed a jamhub a week or so ago and plan on giving it a burn with my band some time in the next 2 weeks. Normally we go rent space but it's a huge pain in the ass getting everyone in at the same time.

Anyone have a rec for isolation headphones? They sell rebranded Direct Sound ex-25's and 29s for use with this thing but figured I'd see if anyone had strong feelings about other options.

I dunno.... sorry. I know massdrop had some really excellent open back headsets at value pricing, but I'm not a headphone snob so I wouldn't feel comfortable suggesting anything in specific.

I bought a pair of the Vic Firth drummer's headphones for when I have to set up and play next to a drummer in a studio setting-they don't sound quite as good as the ATs I have but they do knock out a lot more outside sound. I would recommend them for your application. Bottom of this page:

I have a pair of the Direct Sound Ex29's and like them. Have been using them for about 5-6 years. They sound really good and isolate the outside noise very well. I can wear them for hours at a time. Very comfortable.

Thanks boys. Went with the Ex-29's. So far so good. Our singer's wife was out so we got to go loud yesterday but I'll report back once I give them a burn. Will say they sounded awesome while playing Elite: Dangerous . Heard stuff I never noticed before and didn't hear stuff I always hear (wife telling me to stop with the fookin' video games). Win win.
