  • Help me pick an amp color!

Hey, guys. I'm considering getting a Carvin X100B Reissue halfstack, and I'm torn between three colors.

    Red Bronco:

    Python Snakeskin:

    Black Country Western:

I'm concerned that the python might be too gaudy and flashy, but it does stand out.

I like red, but this tone of red is a bit "pedestrian."

My concern with Black Country Western is, well, it's just black. But since it has patterning, I think it might look killer on a halfstack.

    What say ye?

Out of those three, I'd have to say the Black Country Western.

I like the red but only if it never leaves the house. Black is best for a working guitarist.

I keep thinking that the Black Country Western will look killer with white logos. Plus, like PIKA said, black is probably best. It's conservative and "traditional," but in this case, it's more decorative.

I don't like snakes, and the snakeskin is so "gray" looking.....

If that red were more like a dark burgundy or wine, it might tempt me more.

          Any others?

What kinda gigs are ya playing? that snake skin would be good for hair metal. red for Michael Jackson, Prince stuff, black for real men.

I play in a Punk Polka Metal Country band, and we have midget backup singers and we force every audience member to stand up, one at a time, and tell us a little bit about themselves.

But seriously, no band at the moment. Like you indicated, I think the snakeskin screams "Warrant!" or "Poison!" and red is a bit too "mid-80's teen movie."

So I'm leaning mostly toward black.

Do they have anything in a dark black? Sorry I couldn't resist the "Easy Money" reference. I'd go with the black.

That seems to be the overwhelming consensus.

Snake or red just to be different.

Also, I was able to find a few pics of the X100B in all but the Black Country Western. I've found ZERO pics of it on any X100B.

I've mostly ruled the snakeskin out. It looks wicked, but the more I look at it the less I really like it.

                            They do have Vintage Bordeaux.

I looked at that one, but it just sort of "lays there" for me. I tried to find X100B pics in all of them, but no dice on most colors.
