  • Everything took a dump.

Ok guys, my 5150 (first gen block letter) took a dump... I replaced the tubes and was still having the same problem, that's about as far I will go with heads as i'm not the most knowledgeable working on them. Took the head to my bro's house in PA , he's good with amps & electronics 20 + yrs experience. Not advertising just stating.

I would turn it on and the volume came up with a really loud HSSSSSSSSS then would fade down.... you'd have to then turn the amp up to 5 just to get the volume lvl it use to put out at on 1 . No worries though, I'm not without a amp head... I retrieved the Carvin MTS 3200 Master tube series 50th Anny Edition while I was there. When I get the 5150 back she'll be tight. This Carvin is nasty though! while I'm getting shit fixed , I need to have a pot replaced in this Crate Flexwave 120H ( solid state) . The overdrive channel "level" knob if you pull out on it volume is good, you let go and it drops, I've taken the chassis out and sprayed with quick dry electronic cleaner, cause shit gets dirty over time... didn't work. So thinking the pot needs to be replaced or a contact issue. Taking it up there next, I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck, causing pain & numbness in my left arm, so haven't really been playing except for "good days" and even then just a few minutes at a time...getting this addressed as well.... talk about everything falling apart all at once, on top of that my wife's car decided to fail with blown head gaskets which then resulted in 2 cracked heads.... junk, not worth fixing, had to go get her a newer vehicle. Anyone wanna go fund me? Just kidding, we got this folks, still blessed. So that's why I've not been active lately. Oh, this took forever to type with one hand. I know, I know ....

Fuuuuu, I have had times like this too. If I lived anywhere near you man, you could borrow some of my stuff. I spent many years in NC during the 80's while in the Marines. Shit will get better, it always all happens at the same time for some reason, lol.

See a Chiropractor about the pinched nerve. A reputable one, not just the first one you run across. Ask around, listen to what people say, and get x-rays and scans before they go pushing and pulling.

Yep, manipulation is no good if you have a disc issue, could also just need to do pt exercises.

You never know with the neck and spine. Don't let anyone touch you till you know exactly what is going on in there.

My issue is impingement of the ulnar nerve in both arms. Now that I am doing exercises and wore braces for 6 months, I can play guitar and do things again.

Thanks guys, yeah I have 3 doctors talking to me , ER , Company, Family all are reviewing and discussing. I'm dealing with multiple injuries , the pinched nerve in my neck causing numbness in left arm, hand, fingers, then lower back with pain to groin and down left leg, this shit is work related.... never had these issues before and a complete and thorough exam was done when I was hired 3 yrs ago. I am in great physical shape, I'm 5'10" , 160 lbs , have a great balanced diet and only 39 yrs young. Mentally I'm 18 though
