Who doesn’t like a Marshall full stack? Me too, but those cabs can be expensive.
I have a 4x12 Fender Showman cabinet I bought many years ago, an early 2000s era made of multi-ply birch w Celestion 75s for less than $200 used. It sounds great and is just as big as a Marshall size-wise.
Recently, I came across another used Fender 4x12 at a local shop for around $200, but am unsure with this model called a DT-412. They came stock with Celestion G12T-100, but not sure if this one has the original drivers. Also, I’m not entirely sure of construction either. I found one site that states plywood, not sure if birch, and probably an MDF baffle like most.
This particular one is made in Mexico, and were made throughout the 2000s to present. Size wise it’s about 1.5 to 2 inches shorter in width than a standard Marshall 1960 cab.
Anyone have any experience with these?
