I've been on a amp buying/selling/trading..binge not seen since the early 90's. Recently owned Engl Powerball 100, Freyette Deliverance 120, JVM 410, ..The JVM cleary won that battle. Basically one half of my Trusty Marshall rack in head version. The Uber destroyed BOTH Freyette, Engl for my metal tone. Oh, I have an CRAZY loud '72 Marshall1959, just as a killer trophy..It works, and don't want to break it.
My son bought the 6505+ 12+ when they just came out. 500 OTD. AWESOME amps in every way. I have a Peavey 15" 300 Black Widow as an extenstion cab. I'll probably do the same with the Blackstar. I tried this Blackstar three times before making this the last amp EVER I'll buy. It has a crazy SMOOTH gain structure, very lively, and warm when moderately loud. 2 ch..2 modes each..reverb and their branded Celestion ..a blackbird. Reminds me of a Classic 80.
I'm going to jam with my son and put them to the test. with any extenstion cabs. Keeping everything 100% stock..as is. Well use my pretty bright USA '95 FRC strat, and my '96 LP Standard with Classic 57s and thrown in a Jackon or two.
I'm going to KEEP the Peavey know matter what. I got a while to decide to keep the Blackstar But EVERYTHING I bought was based on how it sounds on their own. I like all the amps I bought. But to A/B them means everything.
Ben-O-Rama..This is perfect having a kid to play drums or guitar tweaked to your exact liking.
