  • Is there an audio combiner (opposite of splitter)?

I'm getting a small bedroom setup going. I have a gt10 and a smartphone. My plan is to get something where I can mix the audio from the phone to the output from the gt10 so I can play along with stuff. Is there a cheap magic box anywhere that will do this? Or does anyone know how to do it just using the GT10?

most splitters can be plugged in the opposite direction and make them a combiner.

Of course, depending on the signal path, you may not want this.
For example, do you want the music of your mp3 player being distorted like your guitar?

I believe Apogee do a box for iPad / iPhone. Not sure about Android.

Where are these two audio sources going to meet?

I would take the out from the GT10 and the out from the phone and have them meet, then go to the headphones from there.

I could easily run the phone through the GT10, but then whatever I run through it would get processed like the guitar.

Digging around I found a splitter here at home that is stereo in with 2 stereo outs. The only problem is that the stereo in is male. Could I just get a barrel connector to change it to female so all 3 are male?

Get a small 4 channel mixer.
You can pic one up for under $100 plus it will give you better control of volume and mix levels.

Duet 3 is the latest version of our most iconic audio interface. We changed the recording game with the original Duet. Duet 3 elevates it once again.

Yup, get a small mixer. I picked up a Yamaha MG-10 for under a hundred bucks. They have a smaller model as well, the MG-06. They also have the AG series that have a USB interface if you wanted to record your mix.

Samson CQ8 headphone amp. Takes multiple Ins and sends multiple headphone Outs. Or any small mixer. An old Yamaha MT4x cassette 4-track, Akai DPS-series digital recorder, Behringer mixer. Hell, even an old Radio Shack mixer. Rolls makes decent rack-mounted Line Mixers that can be had pretty cheap off Ebay.
