  • NAD - Marshall JVM

    ...1H. lol

The DT-25 I picked up had a weird electrical issue where it just decides when it wants to work, so instead of fucking with it, I brought it back and used the money to pick up one of those JVM1Hs. It's a pretty beastly little amp.

I'm on the lookout for a 1960B to mate this with and will be moving the Legacy cab to a new home after I do. It's plenty loud on 1 watt and gets quiet enough to use in the bedroom for sure, even without the 0.1 watt switch on. I've messed with it a little and it seems to really compress the feel of the amp. I'm just gonna leave it on 1 watt.

For any JVM owners, it's like the orange setting on OD1 with a touch more gain on tap. It cleans up really well, and the gain was only set at 11 o clock in the vid linked. The EQ was flat with the resonance switch on and presence at 9 o clock...and of course, recorded with an iPotato. OD pedal was not on.

    I like it. A lot.

Nice, I almost bought one of those in the combo version. I hear good things about the 1W amps, particularly the JVM.

Very cool! What song was that? Sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it.

I was just jamming around, brother. Nothing in particular.

If it is something, let me know so I can listen to it because it's right up my alley lol

It's a fun little amp. It does exactly what I was hoping for.

I still have an SM57 tucked away somewhere. I'll get around to mic'ing it once I get a proper cab and finish moving.

LOL I don't know, it just sounded a little familiar, but I guess not.

                Congrats on your new JVM1
Been running mine thru a 1960A cab with 75’s since almost day one and it’s excellent.
                Have fun with it!

I was looking around and saw a few on eBay selling for less than $600 last week. If you get the chance to pick one up, I recommend it. It's a badass little amp and compliments the full size JVMs very well. I have a 205H being rebiased and inspected right now and the 1H nails the feel of the Orange OD channel and as expected, sounds much more full and thick at low volume.

I was able to score a 1960 cab running 75s and Vin 30s in an X pattern last night from a local(ish) JCF'er. The 1 watters sound significantly better pumping through a 4x12.

Oh snap, it's a full stack now. My 1960A is wired with a through output, and I scored a 1960B today on Craigslist.

...from Bill Kelliher of Mastodon. Super laid back guy and was cool to chat with for a bit. This cab toured with them quite a bit and is loaded with the stock 75 watters. The baby JVM sounds massive on 2 4x12 cabs.

Nice score and yes the 1 watters sound great with a 4X12.
I have the custom offset 1 watt head going into a JVM 4X12 with green backs.
                      Sounds thunderous and plenty loud.
                      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I'm scouting out a JMP1H and want to pick up a 4x12 with Greenbacks to compliment it. A hot Plexi is the Marshall tone I love the most and I'd love to have one that has volume low enough to match my hack playing.

I want the 1 watt JMP too.
The little Marshalls 1 watters are really great home and recording amps.
My custom offset has its own 1X12 cab and it sounds OK with it but I either use a 1966 diagonal 2X12 Marshall cab with 75's or the JVM cab.
I have seen online people say the custom offset is a dark amp but mine has never been too dark sounding.12:00 is perfect on the tone knob.
I have swapped out the tubes with old NOS GE and Mullards and it sounds so much better now.
The original Chinese tubes didn't sound bad but kinda of a flat response to my ears. The tube change really made a world of difference and the amp really breathes now
