Celestion 70/80 vs. Creamback for DSL40C?

I think I've narrowed it down to this combo and Sweetwater has the free Creamback upgrade. Which speaker would be better for 80's to more modern rock? I played through one today at GC and was pretty impressed with the stock speaker so I'm curious.

70/80 isn't a particularly "nice" speaker - I personally think they're dreadful. The Creamback is a great speaker. For "modern" rock, the T75 or V30 are probably good choices as well. If you don't like the CB, you could trade it in a NY minute for a T75 or V30.

Thanks man, I had actually thought about emailing them and asking if they would just throw a V30 in there instead of the Creamback. I'll just order the CB and give it a whirl.

Creamback GM12-65 is a great speaker. Personally.... for the DSL40C.... the best speaker is a Celestion V30.

It should've been here today but no one was here to sign for it. I guess if I don't like the Creamback, I'll try to swap it or keep it and build an extension cab or something.

Before you do anything, try it with different tubes. The stock chinese ones suck and really kill these amps.
