As far as price is concerned with the GT100, I honestly think it's under priced. Hear me out on this and price this out. If you wanted lets say a OD pedal, your around $100 give or take right? Then you might want a Delay pedal, Lets keep it simple and say $100 for that. Then there is Chorus which most people use so there's another $100. If you wanted a Wah Wah pedal yep another easy $100 or more but for simplicity lets just say $100.
Then your gonna need cables, Short Patch cables between the pedals, some will go in the loop so you'll need long cables for that lets say 15 foot each, the Guitar to the Front of the amp , in-between that chain you'll need at least 1 shorty and another one to go to the amp as the guitar will go to the Wah then OD then the front of the amp.
Now you got to plug in all these Pedals, so you buy a power supply so your not going mad buying batteries all the time. That's another $100. Now you need a pedal board to place all these badass pedals that you put together, sure easy $100. Add all that up and see if it compares to the GT 100 in any way. You could easily spend $1000.00 or more easy on a badass pedal board setup. Then you have to pedal dance every single time you want to change something. If you want to turn off the OD pedal and go to the clean channel from the Drive channel of your amp, thats 2 stomps. If you want to add chorus in this switch thats 3 stomps. With the GT100, it does all these changes with only 1 stomp. This is where the value to the GT100 goes way up. Boss could easily charge $999-1999 easy and a lot of us would still buy it.
It's not the most expensive processor on the market but I feel for under $999 it's the best on out there for what it can do , how it sounds, how easy it is to build patches once you learn it. I can put together a patch of lets say a clean channel with a light OD pedal in front of my preamp of my amp, then add in Delay and Chours in the effects loop and have a ending volume pedal at the end of the effects chain in seconds. Save it and now I have a awesome patch to tweak to my liking just like if I set all that up with pedals and sat there dialing them all in. The GT100 allows you to fully dial in each and every single pedal stored inside.
IMO there is no issue with price at all. I wrote them a letter asking for a higher end version of this model like a Waza Craft version. I would gladly spend up to $1999 and maybe more depending on how damn good they could make it which by judging the decades of me using there Gt series , single and double pedals, they could easily come out with a no hold barred organic insane crazy awesome new Waza Craft GT1000 or whatever they want to call it.
Good luck my friend , I hope you find what your looking for.
I think I'll probably get the GT-100 tomorrow. I love the idea of having an all-in-one solution for my sound, and based on some of the videos I've watched, I think I'll like it.Member - National Sarcasm Society

One more question for now...... my local GC has a new-in-box GT-100, but I think they've had it for a while. Is there a way to tell if it's the 2.0 version without opening the box?
EDIT: This was asked just out of curiosity. I know I can download the 2.0 upgrade if needed.Last edited by PowerTube; 03-04-2016, 09:26 AM.Member - National Sarcasm Society

I bought a GT-100 about 6 months ago at Guitar Center and the box was labeled as version 2.0. The unit continues to exceed my expectations. I'm running it into a clean amp and don't use the cabinet impulses. I am using the different preamp models and the ones I'm using sound very good. I use them to get the sound I want not expecting them to sound exactly like the amp they are modeling. Sometimes I use them by themselves and sometimes with an overdrive or distortion pedal. The flexibility is the best feature. There is a learning curve and once I got the hang of programming in the unit I downloaded the software and started programming on my PC which is even easier and makes the more complex patches much easier. I love using the foot pedal to cross fade between preamps, control effects level, change amp/effects gain and much more. Just be sure to read the manual and first set the unit to the amp setup you have. Stock patches just show what the unit can do and can be greatly improved with tweaking.

I think GC has price matching, though, so I'll ask about that.
Thanks for the tip!
EDIT: It's actually a $100.00 mail-in rebate from Boss for this month. GT-100, here I come!

I bought it, but a slight problem..... when the effects loop is engaged, there's NO sound. I can kill the effects loop on the amp, then the sound comes back.
Anyone know the quick and dirty answer to this? Is there an FX loop volume adjustment on the GT-100? I haven't found anything in the owner's manual or the menus.
EDIT: Never mind. I found it.....Last edited by PowerTube; 03-04-2016, 07:47 PM.Member - National Sarcasm Society

The Gt series has just been getting better and better each new model. The GT100 is by far the best one ever. I had a ruff start with it even though I owned the GT8 and then the GT10 as it is slightly different on how you set it up. But once I figured it all out, I can make new patches in seconds.
One very useful tool is using the Boss Tone Studio for your computer. I use it on a Mac but I'm sure the Windows version is exactly the same. This makes editing patches and creating them much easier. I set up a table next to where I play and connect my Laptop VIA USB and away I go. I have a good time fooling around with all the different effects this unit has. I'll even fool around with the amp modelers and run them directly into the power section of my amp bypassing my preamp. This is the huge advantage of using the 4 cable method which is what really unlocks the power of this unit. I also globally use the Tuner as a second press on any of the patch numbers. So if I'm on lets say Patch 1-1, if I press the #1 pedal again , it brings up the tuner. If I press it again , it goes back to just that patch. I also have the tuner IN LINE so it doesn't cut out or anything. I can be playing , hit the tuner and still be playing. Let a note ring out and tune if real quick while still playing. It's a bad ass feature I learned a while ago.
I also use the expression pedal as a volume pedal for all my patches, it's crazy useful when playing at home and you want to alter the volume. I don't use Wah hardly never so that feature I don't mess with anymore. I'm not a huge Wah Wah guy but the Wah's in the GT100 are pretty damn good. I had a Bad Horsie stand alone and I didn't miss it when I was using the GT100 for Wah.
I do however feel sometimes the Gt100 has to many adjustments. In some ways I wish it was more preset like output volumes , Patch Volumes , etc. I find it almost maddening to have so much control I get lost sometimes on where I should adjust things. It's how I feel about effects with Tone adjustments, I don't think they need it as your amp has all the adjustments you need plus you also could have a tone adjustment on your guitar. It's gets overwhelming to tune everything it tight and takes a a lot of time to get everything dialed in.
But at the end of the day you do have all this flexibility and can adjust to your hearts content.
