Orange Tiny Terror Combo Review

Really..??? I just met a dude tonight at my freind's Maiden/Dio tribute. A bunch of shit just fell into my lap including a USA white/large head/ maple Strat. Three offers to be in bands with people I begged to be in mine over 10 years ago...WTF?? OK then...YES!

I've been passing by Orange amps ALL my fuggin' life..never played a single one. Tetsuo's testimony of Dark Terror/Uber prompts absolute investigation! Do I really need another amp?...YES!

You can't have enough awesome gear. The more you buy..the more you want. I think for us it is not just tools we use, but an addiction of euphoria. We ALL found our tones long ago..we want more.

That why I'm not really into all in one units. They are awesome. But I want to look at them. I want to smell them..feel them..hump them. You can't hump an amp model patch ..but you can hump a nice half stack. Well I guess you could hump an AXE FX..but I don't wanna. But I'll be recording thru one very soon..YES!

The Dark Terror impresses. To me and the other people who heard it who of course have similar tastes as me we think it is perfect metal tone. It doesn't have the complexity of the uber but it has a little more uppercut if that makes sense. Yeah I passed on Orange too because well it was a tony iommi thing. I had no desire for sludge rock tones. I was wrong. Xenophobe also has a dark terror.


The Axe is awesome. Just way too many options hence why I got rid of it. Also if you want an uber tone I don't think that is one of the models they modeled well imho. They did a far better job on the Ectascy. The fried and rock hard!!

Bill, one try and you will be bringing one home. I have put my Tiny Terror through the paces. Keep in mind... its a small very well made 1 x 12 combo with 3 knobs. Volume, tone and gain. No effects loop, no reverb.. no speaker out jack. Nothing. It absolutely cranks. The gain sounds so good to my ears. Its the best high gain tone I have ever owned in an amp. It sounds great at whisper loud volume. It can keep up with a band no problem. It literally roars yet it never sounds fizzy or mushy. Its perfect high gain tone.

Bill, you owe it to yourself to check out Orange. Check out the Tiny Terror, Dark Terror, Dual Terror, the TH30, the Thunderverb 50 and 100. Check out any of the high gain Orange tube amps. I HAVE A NEW SLOGAN FOR ORANGE AMPLIFICATION...... ORANGE IS THE NEW BROWN.

Dudes, even the MICRO terror is a beast!!!!! It only has ONE sound, but it is a good one - especially for a little 20 watt hybrid amp. I jammed mine through a 1960 cab during band practice a couple times for the fun of it. It was loud enough to be heard. That little fucker is only $149, too!!!!!

YEP, killer low volume amp too. I do like the dark more than the tiny, but i play mostly chunk sludge stuff.
