  • Axe FX just added a killer new amp model.

One of the great things about the Fractal Audio's deep artist roster is they sometimes get requests from their artists to add their personal amps to the box so they don't have to carry around their real rare/expensive amps to fly in gigs.

The first model to get this treatment was Keith Urban's 1959 Tweed Twin. I know most people here couldn't give two fucks about an Aussie country artist, but it's a killer amp. Joe Bonamassa recently has started buying up a few real ones and gigging them exclusively too.

The latest amp to get the star treatment is James Hetfield's Mesa MK IIc++

Since most people well never actually see a real MK IIc++ in person, them being rare as hens teeth, having it the box is as close as I'll get.

Well holy shee-it! It nails the tone (IMO) as can be seen in these vids.

That is a cool part of the product offering, would love to try those both out.

By the way, Keith Urban is a kick ass player too. I actually saw him play a Jackson PC1 Au Natural on a major tour about 5 years ago so he isn't all that bad LOL. I posted footage here, but given the bizarre searchability of this forum, I have no idea where it is.

Here's the post, but the video link is dead.

Just thought I would update this as there was a little misinformation. It's a Mark IIc++ model, but not actually JH's amp.
