I'm surprised no one seems to have posted about these amps yet. I did a search but could not find anything.
I was finally able to play a Boss Katana Head yesterday. It was set up over a Fender 2x12 cab. I was sold on first chord! Even the sales dude turned around and listened for a few minutes.
Really loved the amp. Only fooled around with the 4 amps, no FX (supposed to be a bunch) and a just a lil' reverb. Really liked the amps models. You can cover lotsa sound without having to go through a zillion choices. I also took the time to try the amp with a few different guitars, from a very expensive Strat to a cheap Jackson. BTW, I did try a cheap Monarch and really like it. Played very well for the affordable price.
The Boss amp always sounded great. And that expensive Strat had a lot of character with it. It was pretty nice.
The integrated 5" speaker is pretty cool and works great for very low volume jammin'. Neat idea!
After 20 minutes, I had to leave not to buy it. I was lucky, I wanted a brand new one in a box and they had none in inventory. My wallet was happy.
For 350$us (499$ in Canada), these amps cover a lot for cheap and they sound very good to my ears. I wish I could have got such an amp in the 80s.
