The Mesa, no question. I _could've_ bought just about anything in the $1800 and under range, but I think the Rectos sound awesome, so I bought a Triple. My only problem with the 50s is that there's not as much clean headroom.

I do like the DSL better than the TSL line, but not by much - I've found them all to be "lifeless" and muddy when I've played them.

Owner of a 6100 and a Tremoverb I say for myself the DSL all day long. The Recto's are muddy to me. The cleans are better on the recto's though but otherwise the Marshall is a lot brighter and that is more my sound. For the Money go get a Zinky Mofo. You will be happy. There are a few on HC right now

For the money, buy a VHT 50 CL, like Pete has for sale...

I've had the DSL 100 and couldn't get rid of it quick enough...

The build on the MESA is QUITE superior to the Marshall, and the support and warranty work is top notch. Marshall has dropped the ball lately... Since like 1987, haha..

YEah Mesa build quality blow marshall out of the water anyday but seriously Marshall tone is more for me than the Mesa tone
