You are going to love that amp. And... add a nice 1 x 12 cab and throw a mic in front of it and you could play anywhere on the planet live. I saw one of the countries premier VH tribute bands about 6 months ago. They tour the US. Anyway... the guitar player who looked and sounded EXACTLY like Eddy was using the amp you bought with a Friedman 1 x 12 cab and 2 or 3 EVH stomp boxes out in front. All the typical stuff. His tone nailed the EVH tone. I talked to him prior to them going on and in between sets and he said he bailed on the 1/2 stack because this amp sounds exactly like EVH and it takes up no room on stage.

Guaranteed you love it. Probably won't need the Red setting. Plenty of gas on the Blue for
most uses. If ya need more, this amp takes boost and drive pedals great with the Blue
setting. Red is actually lower volume than Blue, for some reason. Kind of frustrating, and the
new EVH amps have addressed it, but ya can't do traditional channel switching on it for rhythm/lead.
Really Red or Blue can work on their own with a pedal 'for that extra push over the cliff,' so you find
you don't miss it!

The Blue Channel is nicer I too would say, overall I find the amp a bit too mid-focused though. But if it works so well for a tribute band, screw me on this! From my own experience and forum inquiries I would suggest keep away from Vintage 30 speakers and cabs with it, I need to get a Greenback or Creamback type of thing myself. Good fun!
