Marshall JMC2000 TSL? 100/60? Head/Combo?

Any comments on this amp? I am looking for the 80's metal sound. Would a head and cab be better than a combo? Also they have a 100 watt & a 60 watt are there differences other than watts? This will be my first amp purchase(just learning). So I would like to get something that I can keep and will be reliable. I have heard a few comments that the new marshalls have quality problems? All comments are appreciated. Will this amp need any added f/x to get the right sound?

I've used the tsl 100 watt head for 2 years now and still love it, close to 50 gigs with it and not a problem yet!
