I guess I was living in a cave, because I didn't know that something like the Boss LS-2 Line Selector pedal existed until today. Since a couple of my amps don't have effects loops, and others are missing the footswitch to control the loop, this is looking like exactly what I need. Right now, my setup is something like this:
1.) tuner
2.) distortion/multi-effects (chorus, reverb)
3.) delay
From there, I just go into the amp clean channel. However, I also have a 1/2-rackspace EQ and rackmount noise gate that usually have run in the effects loop. I'd like to try an LS-2, run the delay and EQ in the LS-2's loop to kick on for solos, and then to the noise gate and out to the amp.
The the LS-2 a pretty reliable unit? Any glaring flaws? My goal is to have everything I need right on my board, so I can connect to whatever amp I want with just a single cable. This would have been really handy in the studio, but I didn't know they made such a thing.
