• Rocktron Piranha

    Hey

    I'm playing a Soldano SP-77 through a Rocktron Pro Q, a VHT 2150 Poweramp through a Marshall JCM900 1960A cab.

The Rhythm sound of my setup is very brutal and I'm really satified whit it but I don't get the warm creamy lead sounds I am looking for. So I'm looking for a second preamp to get this tone.

I'm thinking about getting the Rocktron Piranha or the VooduValve. The piranha is pretty often at ebay here in Germany. Do you think these preamps would be be a good choice or is there another preamp out which has this tone ?

    Thanks

    Re: Rocktron Piranha

The Soldano is all the preamp you need. I've had a Piranha, and the Soldano is definitely a better preamp. You may want to try setting it up with some sort of overdrive or EQ pedal to push the front end rather than wasting your money on another preamp which won't give you the TONE the SP-77 has.
