I tried one, didn't really care too much for it. I guess it would depend on what exactly you are expecting to use on it, and what you expect from it, though. For the price, it's got a ton of goodies in it, no doubt.
If you are looking at using it as both a preamp and an effects unit...I'd say mayyyyybe for recording purposes. But I couldn't get much out of it that I cared for in the preamp dept. as a regular playing setup.
The effects, on the other hand, well...there are tons of them, and they are completely variable and flexible...the quality...eh...again, for recording I'm sure it's great. I'm not sure what these are going for nowadays $-wise, but if you want a good effects unit for your setup, the quality and price of the TC Electronic G-Major are both very good for what it is.
