Re: Im lost.
dude i wish i could help ya, not real familiar with marshalls.
my only experience was a JCM800. Checked it out in a studio like 5000 years ago, it was the Suqest. which puzzled me cause at the time I'm sure slayer was using marshall, which drove me to check one out.1+2 = McGuirk, 2+4 = She's hot, 6-4 = Happy McGuirk

Re: Im lost.
I'd have to say myself, that the 100 watts actually seem to sound better somehow. Had both... There are lotsa different makes... And some used diodes for clipping, bleh..
2203 with the vertical jacks is the more coveted one. They seem to sound the best tubetone wise...
I'm sure there a couple 800 fans here to say more. Some like the 50 watter, but, I've always liked the 100 watt ones the best.

Re: Im lost.
i agree with cleveland about the 100w sounding better, but i'm just thinking practically. i have a 100w m/b mkiii and it sounds so good, but i can never turn it up to the point where it sounds the best, cause if i do: you can't hear anybody else, no vocals, no bass, and my lead guitarist can't hear his solo's. so i'm bumping myself down to the .50 cal.
i had a 900 and i had to turn the vol. up to about 75%-100% for it to sound right. and at 100w its just a little too loud. (and when you play a club with a good pa they are always telling you to turn your amp down cause you're overloading the monitors, - so we always told them to take the guitars out of the mix and just relied on our stage volume.) so go for whatever wattage you want bro. but i suggest that if you have more than one guitarist in the band that you guys both that an amp with the same wattage.
