  • pc recording question. can't direct monitor

Ok guys, I'm using cakewalk's Guitartracks Pro on a pc w/ WinXP. I'm miking into an M-Audio Duo usb a/d coverter and monitoring w/ a Creative Audio pci es1371 I think it is. anyway, though recordings sound fine, I can't seem to monitor my currently recording track while playing. I think I have all set up correctly, including the simultaneous record/playback option. Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking maybe my card isn't full duplex capable? how could I tell? help is appreciated.

could be that, but it sounds like a setting in cakewalk. i use pro tools so i'm not familiar with the cakewalk guitar pro thingy. if you are going in on the m-audio, then all the sb is doing is playing, so it's probably a setting.

Did you check something as simple as your Windows line-in volume or maybe Aux volume sliders?

oh, yeah, checked the line in. am even using the usb duo for playback as well and running m-audio monitors from that. same sitrep. I can press a button and monitor from my pod, but no mix from GTPro, or mix but no current track recording. everything seems to record fine. Also I've checked every conceivable setting. Guess I'm hosed. clark
