• Anyone use a POD XT?

I just received a present from a well too do relative. A POD XT. Now I mainly use a tube amp
and run just a comp and an eq too shape my tone.
I tried the POD in front of the amp and was not pleased at all with the fizzy like emulations of
other amps. But then I discovered you have too
set the POD too what you are connected too. Once
I set it too power amp I also ran it through the effects loop of my amp so I just use the power section. This made a world of difference. Using the tube amp and POD XT this way I was able too
congure up very convincing tube sounds. Although
this is a Toy too me I can see where studio guys love these. So many parameters too tweak and
complete control over effect routing (pre and post). I was quick too dismiss this as an expensive TOY but after a little while of experimentation I have warmed up too the Modeling idea a little more. Also using a tube power source I could cut through a mix much better than I tried with the Vetta and its solid state power section.
Not all the models are the greatest some are far from. I am going too try and gig with it soon and put it through the real test. However I would rather have the actual tube amps this thing emulates. But hey like I said this was given too me so I didnt spend a dime.

the pod xt is awesome... it's worth it alone for the eruption patch. i sat for hours playing every van halen lick i knew. recording with it is a joy, no noise, can do with headphones, no background noise.. and can blast at 2am. all kinds of tones.

I have an XT also... keep an eye on the cab emulations - for some reason, they are usually on, even when goint with the poweramp setup.

Hey guys I was wondering about this update patch I read about. It changes from 1.0 to 1.1 in its OS.
Do I need too update? If so what does it update and finally where do I get the update? I hope they can flash different amp structures like say a VHT Bulldog or the Uber. Thanks fellas!

VHT Bulldog, eh?

Anyways, you have to have the update to use the USB recording software. the USB stuff works great, but it does have a little latency, and if you don't have a fast PC, it may cause some clicking.

I updated mine, and it didn't change the tone, just a few different screens changed. Was kinda nervewracking, but hey, it's over with for me.
