• one time........at band camp...... serious question actually

ok, jammin tonight chekin out a drummer things are going pretty good. jammin on some stuff we decided was pretty good, ok lets run through that again. Cool
All the sudden ole reliable MK3 sounds like absolute doo doo! no tight bottom end, kinda mushy i guess you could call it, sounds i'm playing through a mattress or something.
My cab is a basically brand new VHT, tubes were replaced with mesa tubes in the past three or four months.
I pulled the chassis out and checked it out I see nothing obviously wrong. it all looks good nothing cooked.
Any suggestions on what to check?

if everything is still in proper working order, i'm guessing that your ears just went to hell after a few hours of practicing. it's happened to me many times....you stand in front of it long enough, you'll start hearing it differently. try some decent earplugs, and you may notice a difference.

....holy crap, did i just post in the amp forum? i think satan just got himself his first sno-cone.

Did you try another guitar?

Also did you make sure the cord was pluged int he guitar and in the amp all the way.

try a diferent cab if you have one

I have had Mesa Power tubes go bad after 3 months. I will never ever buy Mesa tubes. Anyway it still could be your power tubes.

Check all your connections and cables. Bad cord? Check your guitar cavity. Loose pickup wire?
