Bear in mind that the guy has an artistic temperament, just like most musician.

If someone told you your music sucks and you suck as a guitarist, your first reply would probably be "F%&k YOU!". Why expect the guy to take the insult with a smile?

I'm happy to hear you're getting the upgrade anyway. If you bought it locally
and you still don't like it when it's upgraded, the local store should take it back, if not, then your gripe would be with them.

Good luck!

In my opinion public figures and business' all have certain responsibilities.. that includes accepting criticism. Hell if I made guitars or whatever and someone told me they sucked, I'd be a little ticked off, but I'd work with the guy because its good for my business, I can't lose anything at all from it, I may get ideas on improving the product, I keep healthy customer relations, etc. But if someone told me it sucked and I reply with "well i don't give a sh!t".. well there goes a customer, the dealer he got the defected product from will be pissed, and I won't ever know what went wrong.

Good points Lev, but there's a limit. By
Ken's account the guy basically said he'd
have to ask again nicely. Right or wrong
something in Ken's first email evoked that.

Customer service is vital, and you do have to defray some anger from dissatisfied customers; that's normal.
Some customers think their purchase gives
them an unlimited license to abuse the businessperson though, and that is wrong.
I draw the line at profanity, then I'll warn them we can't discuss the matter that way. If they persist, I will refuse
to discuss the matter until they've calmed down. Being a businessperson doesn't mean you have to be a whipping post.

I'm sure both guys were having a bad day
and butted heads more than either would have otherwise done.

When you engage the pedal this loud popping noise can be heard, also the pedal sounds horrible.Thats why Fuller has the upgrade kit...to fix all the pre-2003 units. Mine was manufactured 6/02.When I shell out $200 for a distortion box I expect something I atleast can work with. My $40 Boss DS-1 blows the Fulltone out of the water....after the upgrade who knows. Why don't you just retourn the pedal to the store and ask for a refund?

If I was using a XXX, I'd probably want a pedal for overdrive too.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No doubt. I would recommend putting this between the guitar and amp:

Just make sure that each pedal has the gain maxed out. Otherwise, you're losing a lot of potential for gain. Then run the Fulltone in the effects loop, with the gain maxed, of course.

I currently use a Fulltone Fatboost and Clyde wah- I used to have a Choralflange but sold it for money reasons- Let me go on record and say they are THE BEST pedals I ever owned- BUT, and I do mean BUT, I have heard first hand from an extremely well known guitarist, his name rhymes with Carrol Fuermer, that Mike Fuller is kind of an odd duck- You need to use a little finesse when dealing with him- Also, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU USING A DISTORTION BOX WITH A TRIPLE XXX! Maybe an overdrive/fatboost but using a distortion pedal, and let me quote my good buddy skullface, will make your amp SOUND LIKE ASS! I say ditch the distortion and get a Fatboost- It gives you up to 20db of clean boost to slam the front of the amp WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR TONE- Good luck bro- Neddi
